I don’t mix business and pleasure, so I like to set those boundaries from the beginning.” Jillian laughed. “You think that I want to sleep with you? That’s not how I do business, and besides, you’re not my type, Mr. Dawson.” Creed smiled. “Well, one of the good things about potentially working with you is that I already know that you’re a terrible liar.” Jillian sputtered.”God, your ego is almost as big as your bank account.” Creed flashed a smile. “So you’ve studied my bank account also?” Jillian wiped her mouth on her starched white napkin and then placed it over her food. She glared at Creed, and this time the green flames had ignited into an inferno. “The only thing I want from you, Mr. Dawson, is a chance. I’m not impressed by your looks. A woman who looks like me is used to getting good looking men, and unlike you, I was born with a silver spoon in my mouth, so your money doesn’t impress me either. Please excuse me.” She got up from the table and walked away. Creed picked up his drink and took a huge gulp, punishing himself with the burn. The meeting hadn’t gone as he’d expected. He’d been a jackass because he didn’t know what to do with his attraction to Jillian. She wasn’t like most women who young or old, he could charm. Jillian wanted something from him, but she wasn’t willing to beg or sleep with him to get it. She’d truly seemed utterly unimpressed by his looks and his money, and that was so refreshing that it only made him want her even more. He got up from his table and went in search of her. He caught a hint of yellow just as it disappeared up to the rooftop deck. He stalked up the steps behind her.
